    Default 12AX7 and 12AU7 in 2/90/2

Help needed here. Buying some 12AX7's and 12AU7's for my 2/90/2.

Do the 12AX7's (one per channel) need to be a matched pair?
Do the 12AU7's (one per channel) need to be a matched pair and/or have matched sides?

Unless advised otherwise I was looking at these:

    Ruby 12AX7AC5 HG+ (shuguangs)
    Ruby 12AU7 High Grade (shuguangs)

But I've also heard good things about the Mullard reissues in HiFi and was wondering how they'd go here. I'm after transparent but warm and full, not hard or brittle.

    Tube section from Manual below:

V1 Input Stage (post volume control).
    12AX7 China Phase Inverter.
    12AX7WA Russia

    V2 Voltage Amp/Driver Stage
    12AU7 China Voltage Amp/Driver Stage

V3 Input Stage (post volume control).
    12AX7 China Phase Inverter.
    12AX7WA Russia

    V4 Voltage Amp/Driver Stage
    12AU7 China Voltage Amp/Driver Stage

Dave answered via email. No they don't need to be matched pairs or have matched plates. Russian tubes can hum etc so chinese are the better bet.

    Thanks Dave!
