Default GP3, low gain with high gain mod

As posted in the other thread...
Just wanted to post it here for future references for lurkers and newbies...

I just scribbled something on a backing I found.
I've been trying to get a good sound recording with my new sound card, but I'm fighting it...LOL
This clip is recorded with an E609.
    EBMM Steve Morse-GP3 preamp-G Force in parallel-VHT 2/90/2- VHT 4x12.
It was at whisper volume, but I still managed to get some consistant digital clipping because I suck.
Please excuse the clam fest... Very sloppy playing, but I only really cared about trying to record more than playing....
Let me know what you think.....

    The GP3 settings were:
    Rhythm channel-
    Gain- 10 O clock
    Boost gain-off
    Treble -10 O clock
    Mids-12 O clock
    Bass- 10 O clock
    Bright- off
    Deep- off
    High gain-off
    EQ- off
At about 1:44, I hit a MI Audio Blue boy prototype with level at 12 O clock
    Tone at 12 O clock
    Gain at 9 O clock

Great funky track. Must've listened to it 4-5 times. GP3 Sounds great. I'm curious to hear how a non gain-modded GP3 preamp sound compares.

I just came across this one you did too http://dl.mp3lizard.com/stevevht/vht_gp3.mp3

Sounds like Helmet, such a chunky, percussive and grainy groove. It's like grinding your face across asphalt. Was this on the lead channel gain modded do you recall?
