Default Correct reverb driver tube in Pittbull 45?

I have an older Pittbull 45 (ser#: B960025) and I received a tube layout sheet for it from support sometime ago. In it it says this for the reverb driver tube:

    "EL84 Not interchangeable with 12AX7 or EF86"

In a post on this forum I found a description of the tube layout for a PB45. It says this for the reverb driver:

    "EF86/6267 Not interchangeable with 12AX7 or EL84"

OK, so clearly the design of the reverb circuit changed at some point, right? Presumably when the amp design went to the multi-pin format for the foot-switch. Does anybody know at what the serial numbers would have been when the design was switched from EL84 to EF86?

I am having some troubles with my reverb section and am about to swap tubes. I just want to be sure that I'm not supposed to be running an EF86 in this position.

i believe the transition happened after 2000. i have had several pre-2000 PB45s with EL84s and my current 2003 model has the EF86. yours is a 1996 so go with the EL84.
