Used a TC repeater delay pedal in the loop of my '09 Fryette UL, and was having trouble with the lead channel just getting more compressed, not louder. Figured out it was the pedal, no matter how I set the preamp volume and gain on the lead channel, it was really hard to get anything louder than the rhythm. It would just compress/fuzz out. And yes, I tried using pedal level on the UL, and line level on the UL and on the TC pedal.
Tonight at a lake gig, tried a Boss DD20 that allows you to set it for +4db operation. Guess what? Worked perfectly. It was kinda nice seeing a Boss pedal do well vs a TC.
