This is a heavy mofo weighing in at 85 lbs! I was wondering if anybody installed casters on their :) amp and if so, what set was their choice?
Also what choice of speakers do you guys think sound the best? Thanks in advance for any thoughtfull response...

My God, it does not come with casters? Come on VHT!

I like the stock VHT speakers to be honest.

I have a pair of P-100E's in my CLX combo. Sounds awesome! I also bought it with castors on it.

But are the p100e's that much better at $130 a piece compared to classic 80's (the other stock choice) used at $60-70? I've searched ebay for used P100E's; not a trace!

I am confused. Does your amp have speakers in it now?

Well , I got it with 2 celestion 12s-50's and one was blown.I threw a g12t-75 in there and it sounded a lot better. Then I emailed Steve F. at Vht (great guy) and he told me to look at the p100e's or celestion classic 80's, both being the stock choices for this amp.I assume that anything under 80watts would yield no bass response in a open back combo...Now ,are these P100e's worth paying twice the price of used c80's?

I wouldn't know. I don't know how anything else sounds in this other than the P-100E's that it came with. The P-100E's sound great to my ears!

My CLX combo has a few years on it and the G-100E speakers came with it so it's not new. They are Eminence/VHT branded speakers. Call and ask VHT what the difference is. I would imagine that they are rated at 100W each? I dunno about the successor.... But they sound incredible.

I have both CL80 and P50 (50W) in two 2x12 cab with my VHT CLX.
The P50 is ultra-tight in bass (but has less bass than CL80), a bit hollow in the mids and has cutting treble. Very defined tone. Clean, cutting, tight. My settings are bass at 3-4 o'clock, mids at 2 o' clock and treble at 10 o'clock.

The CL80 has a better balance to my ears. Bass are generous, but less tight (good for rock/hard, not so good for ultra tight modern metal tone). Mids are full and treble are smoother. I run all the settings about 12 o'clock with the CL80 (mids between 10 and 12 o'clock). But the CL80 is a bit blurry compared to P50E. You don't notice it alone, but it is obvious with P50E in the other cab.

Both speakers give good results. It's more a matter of taste. All in all, with good settings (crancked mids and bass, lesser treble) the P50 is my favourite.

But.....

My CL80 are both in sale. And so would be soon my P50E. (8 Ohms). I find the holy grail of tone with the Scumbacks (US manufacturer with speakers based upon old greenies).

My 0.02...

So, how many speakers does Vht sell? So far I've heard of P50,P100,P75 and G100. Anything else?
