Wow... That's an awesome looking cabinet. Did you make that yourself?

It's what I do.

I told the customer we should put steer horns on top, and he also wants to put a couple of those old-time beer bottle openers on the sides as handles.

He's off on a "scavenger hunt".

I saw this cabinet last night and it looks great.

It's being played around the Baltimore area luthier Phil Jacoby in a jazz project of his (along with a classic rock cover band he uses to keep his mondo chops up).

Phil was a SERIOUS devotee to Fender Deluxe Reverbs and his discovery that this VHT 50/12 had more useful extras AND sounded great (with an amazing capacity to distribute sound throughout a room uniformly) is VERY high praise for the VHT 4-EL84 powered amps indeed. Phil is a tough sell on any change in his rig.

That's a late '70s Celestion 65 speaker in the photo and it sounds wonderful, but I believe its going back to the original VHT speaker in the near future to judge any differences.

I wanted to point out (if there's any question) that the cabinet pictured above is completely hand made.....NOT just a recovering or reTolexing of the original VHT cabinet. I'm told it's dovetailed in a very mid '60s Fenderesque build quality. VERY cool and lots of fun!

Crusty's cabinets RAWK! I wanna see that chassis in a compact head box.....now THAT would be a potent 'lil package! :D
